Merritts Meadow Nature Reserve is a 4 acre site in the centre of Petersfield. The land is leased on a long-term basis from Merritts Meadow Residents Association Ltd and is managed by Merritts Meadow Conservation Trust, a new charity set up with the aim of making this small site more valuable for wildlife and creating a peaceful place for people to enjoy.

The South Downs National Park Rangers are very supportive of our aims and their volunteer teams have provided valuable practical assistance. We also have a small group of local volunteers (Friends of Merritts Meadow Nature Reserve) that help with conservation tasks.

Our aim is to manage the site effectively, increasing biodiversity and achieve the status of a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC).

If you would like to get involved, perhaps by becoming a Trustee or a volunteer, please do get in touch here.
